Archive for December, 2010

Well you guys know that I’m a sucker for taupes.  Especially plummy taupes.
This one’s sleek packaging and beautiful finish took me by COMPLETE SURPRISE
and has since won me over completely…

I’ve started this routine of every once in awhile swapping out the items in my small makeup drawer for others in my kaboodle.  It helps me to not get bored and ensures that all of my eye shadows get more equal love <3 Here are just some of the main items I have chosen this December.  They’re not terribly holiday themed, but I thought that the orange and purple would be sort of unconventional festive colors that won’t be too matchy matchy with my red and green outfits :]  And of course, glitter for New Years!  Swatches after the cut…

Just another look using the Sassy Duo and Sleek Bad Girl palette.

Zoya Goldie NOTD

Posted: December 7, 2010 in Miscellaneous

Although it does look kind of intricate, this nail design is actually really simple.  All you need to do is lay down your base color and then  sorta flick your other nail polish down from the tips in a swishy motion.  If it gets rough around the edges, just clean it up with a Q-Tip and you’re good to go!

I find that this golden color from Zoya looks the best when paired with black.  This particular NOTD  is two coats topped with Seche Vite, as always.  The black color is Black Lingerie by Revlon, which I didn’t like initially.  However, its more watery texture is really pretty good for doing designs like this, so I’m happy.  Like most Zoya Polishes I come across, Goldie is near perfect.  It’s not streaky or weak – overall it just gives off a fierce and unique impression.
